Windows 7 will no longer be supported from 14 January 2020! You need to take action!
We wrote an article last year about this. Windows 7 has been in existence since 2009 and was a pretty decent operating system.
But it has been superseded by two newer versions – the most current being Windows 10. Not only does Windows 10 have better support for newer hardware, faster WiFi and a better look and feel, but it is also more secure. Yes – it is a safer operating system all round that Windows 7.
Cyber-attacks and ransomware virus outbreaks literally keep us awake at night. Using old or out-of-date software is one of the most common vectors for the Bad Guys to get into your devices, steal your online profiles and ultimately empty your bank account. Choosing to stick with older tech may, at one level, save you some money, but in our opinion, if it is at the expense of being hacked it is not worth the risk.
Added to this, the Data Protection Act 2018 (GDPR) insists that organisations only use fully supported software. So, again, remember that date 14/01/2020.
Windows 7 – three links that explain more…
There are three links here for you get a better understanding of what this all looks like.

Here’s the slightly more explanatory without being too dull overview.
The official (and dull in our opinion!) version is from Microsoft Support.
